Three Pillars

As a result of the Print 21 industry competitiveness report "Three Pillars" were set-up to implement specific actions aimed at strengthening the UK's printing industry.

The three Pillars comprise: Productivity and Competitiveness; Training; and Representation and Partnership. Each of the pillars is headed by a separate organisation, enabling them to focus on a well-defined remit and to engage staff with appropriate specialist expertise.

The organisations primarily responsible for the three pillars are: Vision in Print - Productivity and Competitiveness, Proskills Print - Training and the BPIF (along with other trade bodies) - Representation and Partnership.

The three organisations shown in the diagram are committed to developing and implementing a coordinated strategic plan for the improvement of the printing industry's productivity and competitiveness. Although each is responsible for a specific area, all three strive to work strategically as a whole with each other and other relevant bodies such as with Government and the supply chain.
