Supply Chain Activity
At the inception of Vision in Print, an important part of its remit was to establish strong links with print customers and suppliers. As a result ViP has formed strategic advisory groups in each category, which meet several times a year quarterly to discuss a wide range of issues relating to improvement of the printing industry.
These groups also encourage and offer guidance on Vision in Print's Best Practice Campaigns studies.

Customer Strategic Advisory Group
Terms of reference
- To advise the Vision in Print board on how print and packaging customers and businesses could develop more effective relations
- To work to identify opportunities where the whole supply chain (customers, printers and printer suppliers) could work together more effectively to reduce waste in all its forms - materials, labour and time
- To advise the chief executive of Vision in Print on how printers and customers can adopt Best Practice purchasing methods, including, where appropriate, e-business
- To work on defining more effective processes and team management at both printer and print customers, which could raise customer service standards
- To advise on how printers can offer additional added value services to assist print purchasers, and thereby build stronger links
- To assess how the group can assist Vision in Print build strong relations with organisations representing print and printed packaging purchasers, e.g. PA, PPA etc.

Terms of reference
- To advise the Vision in Print board on how the Forum can help its clients adopt effective purchasing and supply chain management strategies across the total range of products and services
- To identify opportunities for suppliers to assist printing companies in improving their performance, and how these can be realised through the Forum
- To advise the chief executive of Vision in Print on the development of services that the Forum can provide to suppliers - particularly to maximise their capabilities and to minimise trading risks, with added emphasis on e-procurement
- To assess the scope for working with organisations representing suppliers to develop partnerships for mutual benefit
- To develop services to assist Forum client companies in managing strategic business relationships, including partnerships with suppliers
